The Vandal: From Sketch to Street Legend
May 30, 2025 – Nicole Jones

Some characters are built in boardrooms.
Ours was born with a spray can and a bad idea.
Back in 2022, we had a concept for a graphic tee — something gritty, something loud, something that looked like it crawled straight out of a speed shop wall. Colin wanted to drop a shirt with a custom graffiti-style “Hales Speed Shop” font and a skeleton tagging it like he owned the place. That shirt dropped. It slapped. And it didn’t take long for people to start asking:
“Who’s the skeleton dude?”
That’s how The Vandal was born.
No name. No rules. Just attitude.
The Rise of a Mascot
What started as a one-off graphic turned into something bigger.
Next, he made a cameo in our Hard Knock Hangout tee — back at it, tagging the Hales logo like he owned the joint. Then came the Montana Wake Co. collaboration, where The Vandal traded his hoodie for mountain views, standing next to a cartoon-style woody wagon, rocking a wakeboard with the Montana Wake Co. logo. That version kicked things up — it gave him personality, a vibe, and a look.
From there, he rolled right into the Summer Breeze artwork — palm trees, sunglasses, beach energy. Always adapting, always unapologetic.
What made him different?
We didn’t just reuse him — we reimagined him.
New fits. New settings. Same iconic edge.
Enter the Vandal Collection
Now, he’s not just popping in.
This is his collection.
The Vandal Collection is a tribute to our unofficial mascot — the restless spirit of Hales. He’s the guy tagging logos, chasing the next thrill, and doing it in whatever outfit the moment demands.
Every piece in this drop channels his energy: fast, fearless, and a little unhinged (in the best way).
A Legend in the Making…
The Vandal’s not going anywhere. In fact, keep your eyes peeled — he’s been spotted on the move again.
And rumor has it… he’s not alone.
Word is, he’s recently met a special lady friend.
She’s got style, she’s got fire, and yeah — we’re probably gonna meet her soon.
The Vandal lives. And wherever he shows up next, you’ll want to be there.
