10 Songs to Summon Ol' Mr. Reaper

Every Hales collection has a story behind it. Reaper needed a soundtrack.

And let's be honest, this collection had us digging through some of our old favorites.

Black and white flannel. The Reaper staring back at you from a tee. A hat that's somehow been ending up on our heads way more than we expected. This collection called for something a little darker, a little louder, and preferably something that sounds better with the volume cranked up.

So we started throwing some songs around.

Some actually fit the whole Reaper thing. Some just feel right blasting in the garage, pulling the bike out for the night, or driving around with nowhere to be.

1. (Don't Fear) The Reaper - Blue Öyster Cult 

Come on. Where else were we going to start? You can't call a collection Reaper and make a playlist without this one. 

2. Hells Bells - AC/DC

Plus, it kicked off with Back in Black for a black-and-white collection...sometimes these things just work themselves out. 

3. For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica

This one sounds like something Reaper would have been playing while he was clocking in for the night.

4. Ace of Spades - Motörhead

Lemmy belongs on the list. End of discussion...move on.

5. Cemetery Gates - Pantera

Turn this one up loud for the neighbors to hear.

6. South of Heaven - Slayer

This is where our playlist gets a little bit heavier, but the Reaper wouldn't have it any other way.

7. Dragula - Rob Zombie

Hot rods, horror movies, and Rob Zombie go together.

8. Black No. 1 - Type O Negative

It just had to be included; nothing like 11 minutes of darkness.

9. Dead & Bloated - Stone Temple Pilots

And if you know the opening to this one, there's a pretty good chance you now have it in your head.

10. The Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden

Might as well finish this list properly.

Turn it up, try not to scare the neighbors.
